Are you Aware of These Article Submission Tips and Tricks?

You probably know that submitting articles can boost your website's popularity in search engines. However, submitting to multiple article sites can be a daunting task. Directories expect different types of formatting. They allow variable numbers of characters in titles, and they may restrict links to as few as 1 - or they may permit several.

Whether you use article submission software or submit your articles manually, there are some advance preparations that will make your job much easier.

Of course before you submit, you must write an article. At the bottom of this page is a handy text template. Although the character counts in the template given here are less than indicated, there is a link in the resource box to an online template with correct parameters.

Compose your article in your favorite word processor; 500-1000 words is an optimal length. Before you begin, set the font to Courier 10 point. This should force your word processor to use plain text characters for quotes, rather than smart quotes and other characters that may cause problems. Allow your typing to wrap naturally. Press the 'Enter' key twice between paragraphs or other important blocks of text.

Avoid using double quotation marks. Instead, opt for single quotes [']. Utilize your word processor's spell-check and grammar features, and check everything meticulously once your article is ready for submission. Then copy and paste into the template, using Notepad or a similar program.

If you see any strange-looking characters on your screen, perform a search and replace and convert them to plain text equivalents.

Your title should be kept below 60 characters. The line under 'TITLE' (*in the online template*), including the leading letters, contains exactly 60. Although most directories permit more, for SEO purposes you should keep your title within this limit. Your title is usually displayed in search engine results. Google will show approximately 68-70 characters. However, article sites often precede the title with a word like 'Articles' or 'Content'. This must be added to the character count.

Once you are satisfied with the title, delete the first line of the template, if you wish.

If suitable, you can utilize the first paragraph of your article as a summary. Otherwise write an appropriate summary in your word processor - and keep it short. A 250-character count is ideal.

The article itself should be copied and pasted below the 'ARTICLE' heading.

In the 'AUTHOR'S NOTE' area, place your bio or linking information. Do not add html at this point - just bare links. Avoid immediately following a URL with a period or other punctuation. Some article directories will not format your link(s) correctly if you do.

Under 'NO AUTO LINKS' copy and paste your bio text, then format the links with html 'href' codes for the directories that allow it.

The 'COPYRIGHT' section is for an occasional article directory that requires it.

The 'KEYWORDS' area is where you enter two lines of comma-separated keywords. The number of characters, including the letters, is 100 (*in the online template*). Some directories allow 100, others up to 200.

Save as a plain text (.txt) file - but don't exit yet!

Go through your copy and add html, as appropriate. Some directories allow codes for bold, italics, unordered lists, ordered lists, etc. Save the file again - indicating in the filename that this is the HTML version.

For example, you should have two filenames, similar to the following:

How-to-Write-an-Article.txt
How-to-Write-an-Article-HTML.txt

Next set up a spreadsheet. The first time you submit to a new directory, do a manual submission. You can register if required, get a feel for the 'tone' of the directory, and check format and linking requirements. Make notes in your spreadsheet. If you use article submission software for subsequent submissions, you will know exactly how to configure your program for each directory.

The resource box at the end of this article provides a link to a page with both versions of a sample article, the template, and an example spreadsheet.

Good luck with your submissions!

Evolving a Search Marketing Strategy

Real-life marketing primarily revolves around the application of a good amount of common-sense; dealing with a limited count of factors, in a situation of imperfect information and limited resources complicated by uncertainty and timescales.

Any industry that is already successful in reaching their local market seeks a global market reach; the best way in today's world would be to go online. The best thing is that the traditional offline marketing that has always worked so well will still work at least as efficiently to promote your online existence. The other side of the story is that to promote your business on internet, the old work culture needs some update to keep up with internet marketing best practices.

As the internet market is constantly evolving, so too are the way search engines list websites in their results. The algorithms and other various technical know how changes at a rapid pace. To maximize your website traffic through the search engines you need to focus on the major 3 search engines. They are Google. MSN and Yahoo search. Search engines are continuously indexing millions of pages from the World Wide Web. Each time a user enters a query into a search engine, it returns a page of links, ranked in order of relevancy, it deems fit matching ongoing changes in algorithms and other techniques.

As a search engine, Google continues to dominate, and Yahoo and MSN are the next two choices for online surfers. Generally Google is a clear leader as first preference for internet users when trying to find something of interest on the internet; this is not essentially in all categories. In some places you may find the website traffic coming from MSN and Yahoo search is considerably more than Google. So it is very important when optimizing your website to target not just Google but all of the major three Google, Yahoo and MSN.

There are host of different search engines too, but many of these feed results directly from one of the search engines mentioned above. By targeting most of your search engine marketing efforts around these three, you are highly likely to see website traffic coming in from other search engines too.

For any one new to online marketing, the process of achieving high listings for your business may seem discouraging. However having the right advances and focus, it won't be long before you see the results coming not just from the major search enginesto more www.indigo.co.in

The key variable to evolve a Search Marketing strategy would be to improve your web page rankings in the big search engines, Transform unproductive websites and sales letters, for any product or service, into successful websites & Improve paid advertising click through rates, lower CPC (cost per click), and increase of ROI.

How Blogs Keep You Updated On New Information

"For most people with the internet, the local news just doesn’t cut it for us anymore. We want personal, in depth stories that most local news broadcasts aren’t willing to cover. Or maybe you like knowing what’s going on locally but you hate having to be on a time schedule. You are forced to listen to forty minutes of negative reports that you’ve already seen, just to hear the new story.

Luckily for us there are blogs available online that keep readers updated on the latest information. You are even able to find all of your favorite television stations broadcasters online. News blogs are great for people who are interested in reading about specific topics because the posts are often categorized by topic. For example, recently blogs have erupted on the scene and have taken American political opinion by storm. Blogs and political opinion happen to play a large role in American politics now.

But blogs aren’t limited to just politics. You can even find bloggers commenting on recent news events. When the US was bombing Iraq, bloggers of Iraqi citizens were very popular. This is where blogs really give the reader the real information from someone who is there, at the scene. It’s pretty obvious that traditional media, like the news on TV, is controlled by big business. Content is very filtered before it gets to you. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like my news filtered by anyone.

You can take advantage of blog RSS feeds to keep updated on the latest events and posts. Google Reader is also a free handy tool that will allow you to keep updated on all of your favorite blogs, all in one spot.

Nowadays I prefer blogs over watching the news, simply because I like to get the facts without having to wait through a commercial.

The Rise and Rise of MySpace

MySpace is a type of social networking website. It offers an interactive network with content that is submitted by users. The site provides a venue for friends to post personal profiles, photos, blogs, music and videos. There is also an internal e-mail system as well as search engine. While you might not be familiar with the site it is currently ranked by Alexa Internet as the fourth most popular English-language website in the world and the sixth most popular site in any language. In the U.S., Myspace ranks at the third most popular website. As such it has become increasingly popular in both online and pop culture.

The wide success and popularity of the site one might think it had been in operation for a long period of time. Quite the contrary; however. MySpace was founded in July of 2003 by a UC Berkeley alumnus, Tom Anderson as well as a group of programmers. Currently, MySpace is partially owned by Intermix Media whose parent company, News Corporation, is also the parent company of Fox Broadcasting as well as numerous other media enterprises. MySpace is headquartered in Santa Monica, California although the parent company is located in New York City.

There are two standard blurbs that users can post on MySpace. These standard blurbs include Who I’d Like to Meet and About Me. There is also a Details section on profiles as well as an Interests section. Users can; however, choose whether they want to fill in these sections. Other information contained on profiles include a blog where users can post media, emotion and content. There is also the availability to upload images. Users can choose a default image, which is the image that will be seen on their profile’s main page. This default image will also appear next to their comments and messages.

MySpace is based on a friend’s network theory. A user’s current number of friends on the site will be displayed and there is an option link where one can view all of a user’s friends. Users can choose the number of Top Friends they want to be displayed. Up to 24 Top Friends can be displayed.

There is also a comments section where a user’s friend’s can display comments. These comments are available for all viewers to read; however, the user who created the profile can choose to delete or approve comments before they are posted if they wish. In the event a user’s account is deleted all comments on that profile page will be deleted as well.

One of the features that many users like about MySpace is the ability to modify their own pages. JavaScript is not currently allowed; however, modifications can be made using CSS and HTML/XHTML. Users can also embed music into their profiles as well as flash-based content and videos. If a user does not know HTML, third-party code sites have made it much easier to modify profile pages by generating code that can be easily copied and pasted to the profile page.

Users on MySpace also have the ability to send out bulletins to all their friends on their friends list. This is a very user friendly feature that allows one to quickly update everyone without the need to message each one individually. After ten days the bulletins are deleted. There is also a Groups feature that allows groups of users to share a common message board and page.

In early 2006 MySpace added the option that would allow users to access services provided by the site in different regional versions. Options available include Global, France, Australia, Ireland, Germany, UK, U.S. and Japan. At the current time all versions except Global and Australia are in beta.

While MySpace is extremely popular with teens and young adults there has been a tremendous amount of controversy and even criticism over the site. In the fall of 2006 an article appeared on the gossip blog, Valleywag, alleged in detail that MySpace had originally been designed to serve as a spam delivery system. The article went on to state that MySpace had been intended to exploit Friendster. Other allegations in the article included the claim that Tom Anderson’s status as founder of the site was only a public relations stunt and that in fact, Anderson had originally been hired as a copyeditor.

About the same time, Brad Greenspan (who had at one time served as CEO of Intermix Media, published a report claiming to be the true founder of MySpace and made requests for the SEC and U.S. Senate to look into the acquisition of MySpace by News Corp. According to Greenspan, MySpace should have been valued at $20 billion instead of the $327 million that News Corp. valued it at. Greenspan, who had been the largest individual shareholder of Intermix Media, claimed that Intermix shareholders had been defrauded through the deal made at the time of purchase. Eventually the lawsuit filed by Greenspan challenging the acquisition of MySpace was dismissed.

There have certainly been other issues regarding the site. Some journalists have speculated that the content posted by young users on MySpace could eventually affect their future college and job search efforts. It is quite possible for prospective employers to browse the site and search for candidates they might consider interviewing using information that is readily available on any resume or job application. This leads to the speculation that it might be entirely possible for an otherwise very highly qualified candidate to be overlooked for a job due to questionable content they might have posted on the site. It has also been suggested that current employees might also be putting their own jobs at risk by posting material on blogs that is critical of their employers.

High school and college students may also have cause to be concerned regarding the content they post on MySpace as well. In a largely increasing number it has been reported that more and more colleges are keeping an eye on both prospective enrollees as well as current students by browsing MySpace. High school students who have their hearts set on getting into a particular college may find their chances reduced if a college admissions officer were to review and find questionable content or admissions to questionable behavior on an applicant’s page, such as underage drinking. Likewise, current college students have begun to realize their participation in college activities could be restricted if sponsors happen to review the content posted on their sites and find it to be questionable.

There have also been numerous concerns regarding child safety issues on MySpace as well. Although the minimum age to register on MySpace is 14, it is certainly possible for a child younger than 14 to simply lie about their age and register an account anyway. Parents who discover their under-14 child has an account on MySpace can request the account to be removed. User’s who are under 16 will have their profile pages automatically set to private while users who are 16 and older can choose whether they want to restrict their profiles. Users are warned not to post any persona information on the site that could allow others to locate them and to be cautious regarding who they approve to be their friend on the site. MySpace has also taken steps to ensure the privacy and protection of minor users. One such step was enacted in June 2006 when MySpace entered a change so that users whose profile age is over 18 cannot add users to their friend list who are 14 and 15 unless they know that user’s full name as well as e-mail address. After highly publicized news reports of some teenagers being sexually assaulted by pedophiles they met on MySpace, the site announced they were taking new measures to protect their minor users through the implementation of tools that would prevent known pedophiles from the U.S. from creating profiles on MySpace.

Still, the controversies over MySpace have led many schools, libraries and other public places to restrict or ban usage of the site. This has not deterred many users; however, as literally dozens of proxy sites have popped up all over the Internet making it possible for users to surf MySpace on the proxy site without being detected by firewalls meant to keep them off the site.

Despite the controversy regarding the site there is no doubt that MySpace is continuing to grow in popularity. Reports indicate that the membership of the site has bloomed to approximately 40 million members. For today’s youth, sites like MySpace offer a unique forum for communication much like any other generation has seen. While most adults continue to use phone calls and face to face meetings as a way to stay in touch and interact socially teens and young adults are becoming far more ambidextrous in terms of socializing online and offline.

In a world that is practically bombarded with multi-media choices, teens and young adults appear to have no difficulty accessing and using multiple forms of media at the same time. A large majority of tunes are quite comfortable watching their favorite television programs while at the same time rocking to tunes on their iPods as well as surfing the Internet simultaneously.

This generation appears to have taken multitasking to a whole new level.

Web Branding Letting Your Humanity Shine Through

It wasn't so long ago that advertising was mostly filled with unrealistic scenarios that attempted to convince the buying public that a better life was available if they were just willing to purchase a product. You could be better looking, have a better home, enjoy greater friendships and never gain weight if you simply used an advertised product. Of course this was never stated, but was often inferred.

This type of advertising is less prevalent today. The question may be "Why?"

Most consumers are much more interested in making a purchase based on their knowledge of a product. Information is sought daily online to assist consumers in making a rational decision about a product or service.

Sure there are still many impulse decisions being made, but the effectiveness of information can be a powerful means of not simply marketing a product but branding your business as well.

If you can make your information interesting and mildly entertaining you may discover the consumer may view you as an actual human being and not some corporate giant who cares very little for their customers.

If you watch advertising on television today you will find it is typically filled with real people simply shopping or enjoying a product with a relatively straightforward message about a current sale or simply providing a spot that enhances the image of the company.

Most of the old style advertising is relegated to infomercials or local advertisers who didn't get the memo that truth and personality are really good sales tools.

I have no statistics to conclusively prove the following point, but I would venture to say that there are many personal website owners who are more adept at web branding than their business counterpart.

The reason I believe this is true is that the individual understand that there is an incredible connection between the expression of their personality and repeat visitors. If the website remains static or relies exclusively on slick production values, the point of web branding remains a lost commodity.

Often business think a bigger and better website is what is ultimately important, but if there is no emotive content coupled with knowledge-based articles and information the end result may be a rather apathetic visitor.

Being real and honest with your customer may mean coming down to their level, but the end result is often a customer that can identify with you. Once they can empathize the knowledge-based information you supply can provide a greater connection with the prospect. In turn this may move a prospect into the customer column on your business ledger.

Web Branding: Nobody's Perfect - And That's Good

Web branding is antithetical to the notion of perfection. Sometimes the best web branding advice is to let your humanity leak onto the web page. Life's messy and perfection is not a trait known to mankind.

If you make a mistake admit it, laugh about it, make fun of it, allow others to comment on it - in the process you will find prospects looking at your website or blog with an appreciation for the voice of common humanity.

So many businesses rely on a level of perfection they can never attain and hope to sell the idea of a perfect company to prospects. If that's what you're doing you have a commodity nobody is buying.

Web branding is about being creative, inventive and sometimes taking your prospect off guard. If you can work on these elements you may find that your website is connecting with customers in a brave new way.

Google provides an example of this approach that has spread to other parts of the web. They have taken their logo and revamped it for almost every holiday and special event. Sometimes it's fun just to go to their site to see how their logo has changed since the last visit. It's a bit like the window dressings of yesteryear when your favorite store would redress their windows on a regular basis to provide a sense of newness to their store.

Many websites will try to appeal to all demographics, but the truth is by selecting a demographic your wish to market to and then allowing web branding to help cast your business as an authority in this demographic you may find your approach is a turn off to some in a demographic that is either older or younger than your chosen target.

When you land on a demographic to serve you will find more freedom to create web branding ideas that are innovative and entertaining to that demographic.

Can you provide some freebies?

If so, you have another means of branding your website. By attacking the web branding issue from multiple fronts you stand a better chance of keeping prospects coming back - sometimes just to see what you're doing next.

You're freebie could be a software download, a computer wallpaper selection, knowledge-based ebooks or downloadable games.

By viewing your website as a sieve you may catch the idea that you always need to be looking for ways to fill it back up, your site visitors will love you for it and will likely come back again - intentionally.

Initial Impact: Price And Performance

How important is your website design? It could be you have a very specific look and feel in mind for your website and that vision can only be forged by a master web designer. But what if you have an ecommerce store you'd like to open and you require a simple, yet customizable web hosting and design solution?

What if you want a professional look, but have a limited budget?

For those just starting their journey into web-based business the notion of paying a few thousand dollars to develop a new site may be impractical and unattainable. However, there is no denying that a website should project a high level of professionalism.

There is a secondary group of entrepreneurs that also seek a professionally designed site, but want to develop a secondary or additional sites designed to provide a very specific affiliate portal for a product or service that has done well for the site owner.

Since affiliate programs offers residual income, most business owners want a cost effective way to develop a site that provides easy site development, well-designed layout and the ability to launch quickly.

If an online business owner can find a combination of easy development, affordability and site owner controls they may discover that several affiliate sites could be developed quickly with an end result that positively impacts their bottom line.

There are web hosting options that were built specifically with the online business owner in mind. These resources provide template designs that allow you to customize a site in a very short period of time. Some businesses have found they can actually develop and launch a new ecommerce site in less than 24 hours. Some have even launched the site in a matter of minutes.

The development of these sites can be done using a built in shopping cart, catalogue or photo albums for product review and identification, online ordering and feedback forms, domain specific email addresses, and other features including autoresponders.

Sometimes a product is a best seller and deserves to be in a spotlight of its own. Businesses have spun these products onto a site of their own and provided a link from their primary site to the newly developed site that keys in very specifically to that product or service.

The good news is there are site development tools available at a cost that can actually allow you to consider the possibilities of developing a new site with affordable development tools and maximum market impact. Viability is more than just a buzzword, it's a highly defined reality in the realm of affordable site design and hosting options.

Four Point Consumer Connection

Ecommerce is essentially the art of meaningful connection. When online businesses perceive their role as merely seller they are liable to find themselves in a 'disconnect' with their customers.

Connection # 1 - Know Your Customer

The best step in connecting with your prospects is to learn what they want. This generally involves research and being willing to ask questions. There will be those that are captured by an idea and launch it without gaining an understanding as to the marketability of the product. This first point of connection is essentially the first building block needed for ultimate client connection.

Connection # 2 - Content is King

Once you establish a product or service that is in concert with the expectations of the consumer, you need to establish a trustworthy website that provides information that allows the dots to connect for your visitor. Far too often websites simply provide a photo of the product and a brief description in the 'store' section of the site.

In brick and mortar stores consumers are able to visit with a store clerk to determine the value of a product. With a website, you must find ways to answer their questions. Often this function is of greater importance than a simple FAQ section.

Connection # 3 - Provide Firsthand Knowledge

If your customers have questions not addressed in your information-based website you should provide reasonable access to you for further clarification. Your availability may be the most potent form of connection.

Connection # 4 - Don't Sever Connections at the Point of Sale

Once a transaction has been made you should provide a means of connecting with your customer to let them know you appreciate their business. This is often accomplished through the use of autoresponders, but may be enhanced with a series of available informational articles specifically designed for those who actually make a purchase. You may also have an ecourse that you can make available. Some online businesses make evaluation forms available on their site. Customers are then invited back to the site to provide feedback. Discounts on new purchases are often a gift that can be given for taking the time to fill in a questionnaire.

Even in cyberspace your customers want a connection, but the connection seems to be increasingly dictated by the consumer. Online business is responding by making their customer connections worthwhile and knowledge-based. Those who do not provide this type of connection are often finding a downturn in new customer sales as well as a lack of enthusiasm from existing customers.

Site Promotion And Social Networking

Wondering whether to bother with the latest offering from Matt Callen, promising to show you how to make more money with Adsense?

I've been a subscriber to Matt's emails for about a year now. From past experience, I know that when I receive an email from Matt Callen offering me a free information product that he's put together it's going to be good.

The offerings I've had from Matt before are all well-written and easy to understand - quite refreshing if you've tried some of the other offerings from the experts.

Unlike some other internet marketing experts who churn out recycled information or blatant promotions of their new products, Matt has put together a well-written report that's interesting, informative and easy to read and offers some new and interesting ideas.

This ebook, Adsense Advantage, is 47 pages of reading about one guy and how he made $9127 in just one month from Adsense... literally a few months after starting his Adsense business.

What is the Adsense Advantage ?
This book outlines a step by step approach that any internet newbie can follow to make money with Adsense.

The guy in question is Abhishek Agarwal who's a big eBay powerseller in India, but wanted something that would offer him a way of earning money with less effort on a daily basis. Although Abhishek is clearly very successful powerseller on eBay, he had no success with Adsense until around November 2006. Here he is just three months later outlining the system for his success.

This ebook has proof of earnings and shows the very low income that Abhishek was earning in October 2006, prior to trying out Matt's HyperVRE system of creating Adsense websites. Abhishek also outlines his method for finding niches and creating keyword lists and websites around them.

Whilst the HyperVRE system itself is available as a free download for anybody to try, Abhishek purchased the Gold version which has a number of bells and whistles (including RSS feeds) that help the search engines to see fresh content each time they visit.

One thing I would have liked to see was how much was spent on PPC advertising to earn the $9127 figure that is mentioned. The system sounds a little like the swap-clicking methods that have been so popular recently.

Can It Work for Me ?

There are some very useful tips about choosing niches and pages - what resources to use and how to create an outline of your site. In fact, there's a walk through of building a site around a particular niche - which is helpful if you've never done this kind of thing before and don't know where to start.

The one thing that I'd have liked to see more information on is the type of advertisements placed on the PPC - what kinds of wording were used, how were effective campaigns evaluated and dumped and how many sites it has taken to get that kind of income?

If you already know that you're good at writing PPC ads for Adwords or Yahoo, then this could be a way for you to rapidly increase your income.

With every " new " idea that comes out - there are always tips that you can glean from the product, and this is no exception.

Read the Adsense Advantage, glean what you can, try it if you like, but use the tips it offers to help build your own business further.

You can get a free download of Matt's book athttp://www.onedollarbookstore.com/Matt_Callen.html

Stop Storing Tips On SEO, Copywriting, Blogging and Web Design (and Maybe Other Things)

If you're a webmaster/Internet marketer, chances are you have saved or bookmarked multiple 'how-to' lists about search engine optimization, copywriting, blogging, and web design. Well, throw all that information out the window and relax in the knowledge that you can be effortlessly knowledgeable on all those subjects (without the stored lists), somewhat like a prodigy.

Did you know that storing 'tips' in a file for reference is becoming as obsolete as the T-Model Ford? Let me relate to you how things have evolved in this area...

Disclosure: The viewpoint described here is based on my experience over the last four years, and I do indeed follow the recommendation I have made at the end.

Over those four years I've been writing articles, blogging and designing web sites. Naturally I've needed to know the best way to do all these things.

As I'm sure you are aware, all the how-to information on the above subjects is available copiously on the Internet from a variety of expert authors. So what did I do? Just like you, I bookmarked the information or pasted it into a disk file for reference (more recently, I was pasting into online files). Now let's leave that aside for the moment.

Wanting to stay abreast of the concerned topics, I also subscribed to expert blog feeds on each of them. Now here's the kicker: I found that every so often, each expert throws an up-to-date how-to list at you!

As a result of this interesting phenomenon, I have taken a silent oath never to save or bookmark key information on these subjects. At the same time I constantly refine my list of roughly 50 feeds to ensure that I am always seeing the freshest, most accurate and best-informed how-to lists.

For not-so-common subjects where there are no expert feeds, yes, I still bookmark, but that does not detract from the essence of my commentary here.

Here's a sampling of the blogs I subscribe to, by category:

Try it yourself. Rely only on feeds to keep abreast of techniques. Stop worrying about saving information in case you need it. I bet you'll have the same experience as I did!

Idea Hangouts: Where To Find Hot Product Ideas To Use For Creating Your Next Best-selling Ebook

That's how many times I've been asked "Where can I find hot product ideas to write about in my next eBook?"

Really. I've been keeping count. :o)

OK, so it's probably not quite that many times, but you get the idea.

I get asked that question a LOT.

And so, I've decided to share my favorite "idea hangouts". That's right ... "idea hangouts." It's been my experience that there are specific places where hot product ideas are always gathered. I call them "idea hangouts."

*** Idea Hangout #1 ***

One of the "idea hangouts" that I've identified is Amazon.com.

Amazon.com is the web's largest bookstore.

It's also a community center for new product ideas. I use it as one of my top brainstorming resources. Again and again I visit this site to come up with topics to write about.

What makes Amazon.com so useful as a research tool for getting new ideas is their searchable database of books. There are thousands of great ideas lurking in there if you just know how to use it.

And that's what I'm here for. :o)

I'm going to show you how to find hot product ideas with Amazon.com anytime you want.

It's really a matter of three simple steps ...

STEP 01 : >>> Decide Upon A Broad Category. When brainstorming ideas, you must begin with a broad category to work with. Some examples might be: weight loss, marketing, dating, travel, baseball.

So, you need that ahead of time. Figure out a broad subject that you know is popular (I.E. You know that losing weight is ALWAYS going to be a popular subject, as is "making money.").

As an example for this article, I'm going to choose GOLF.

STEP 02 : >>> Search Amazon's Database. After picking your broad topic to research, it's time to visit Amazon.com.

Specifically, you're going to SEARCH their database of books they are selling.

Upon arriving at their site, locate their SEARCH form. At the time of this writing, it was in the upper left hand corner of their main page. Pull the menu down and select BOOKS from the options.

In the space provided, type in whatever broad category you chose. I'd type in "Golf". (You don't need quotation marks)

If you did indeed start with a broad category, then hundreds (or even thousands) of book listings should appear as a result of the search.

STEP 03 : >>> Brainstorm Ideas From The Listings. Let the brainstorming session begin! Now it's time to look at the books that are listed and write down as many possible ideas as you can find.

Look for the different TYPES of books written about the subject, identifying different THEMES, STYLES and SUBCATEGORIES.

Let's look at an example ...

When I searched for "Golf", I was able to immediately spot dozens of great ideas. Here are a handful ...

1. Becoming a better golfer. There are many golf books available in this area, covering everything from "A-Z of Golf Shots" to specific topics such as "Improving Your Short Game." There were lots of different themes from "learning to break 100" to "shaving 10 shots off your score" to "7 shots that will change your golf game forever."

2. Guides to Golf Courses. Again, we have many different ideas here. Specific golf guides like "Florida golfing", "golfing in Tennessee" and "golfing the Robert Trent Jones trail" appear, as well as books on "the best golf courses in America," "best kept secrets: great golf courses you've probably never played," and "golf vacation guides."

3. Profiting from Golf. More ideas pour in with "opening a golf repair business," "becoming a golf retailer," "learning how to caddy" and "buying & selling used golf clubs." What about "running an online golf auction", "organizing a golf tournament for profit" or even "writing information products about golf!"

4. Golf and Business. There are millions of dollars in business deals negotiated on the golf course every single year. And there are books available to teach folks how to get it done. "How to negotiate business deals during golf outings," "Legal golf tax deductions for businesspeople," and "business seminars and golf: how to mix training and fun for maximum profit" are just a few more ideas worth exploring.

5. Golf Products. My, my, my there are so many ideas floating around in here! Everything ranging from reviews of the latest golf equipment to ratings of golf courses to discounts on golf packages. Resource guides to finding the best deals on golfing products, how to negotiate discounts, and how to find the best products for your specific golf game also come to mind as product ideas.

One Broad Category (Golf) + Amazon.com Searchable Database of Books = 28 Potential Product Ideas

See how easy that was? I found TWENTY-EIGHT potential new product ideas (and there were MANY MORE that I didn't mention in this article) from a simple brainstorming exercise using ONE "idea hangout."

There's got to be a best-seller in that bunch somewhere. And certainly with a little "mix -n- match" I can come up with a hit product with these ideas.

Not bad, eh?

So, now it's YOUR turn. It's a simple system for coming up with product ideas anytime you want.

Like right now.
